Xantech has been shipping the PA640 Six Channel Amplifier for a number of years. Our installers requested more channels and more flexibility. For instance, not all multiple room systems require as many zones as rooms. Some home theatre installations use different wattage amplifiers for different channels; and some rooms in a multi-room installation require more power that others. The PA1235 is the result of these needs and requests.

Features

• Digital Level Control. Each amplifier pair can be controlled with infrared codes for level, balance, and mute. This finally gives the installer the ability to control, via infrared, the level of each pair. For instance, in a multi-room, single-zone system, where the input source is the same for all rooms, the installer faces the problem of adjusting each room's level even though the source material is the same. In the past, this was done with an autoformer volume control in each room. Now, the installer can give the user control, through infrared commands, of Volume, Balance, and Mute in each room with a keypad and/or hand-held remote. The user now has the feel of a true multi-zone system at a fraction of the cost and complexity.
• Selectable Channel Modes. The PA1235 is designed for ultimate flexibility and function.
  
  • 6 stereo channels at 35 watts per channel

• Local or Common Buss. The installer can place the audio inputs onto a common buss to be used by any or all the amplifier pairs from a single stereo source. Each pair can also be fed from its own unique source. This flexibility gives the installer the ability to use the PA1235 as a six stereo room, one zone system or a six zone system with independently selectable sources.
• IR and DC Voltage Controlled. The user can turn each amplifier pair On or Off with an IR command from an in-wall keypad or a hand-held remote. With a 12 volt trigger, automate the system with a multi-zone preamp such as the Xantech ZPR68-10. When the preamp is shut down, its control voltage turns off the PA1235.
• Low Impedance Capability. Each amplifier is 4 ohm rated. This means you can drive two pairs of 8 ohm speakers in parallel in each zone.
• Auto Protection Circuits. Protects the PA1235 if a short or very low impedance is detected at the speaker terminals. Each amplifier pair is protected separately. Normal operation is restored after the short is removed.
